Democrat Al Franken’s lead in the contentious Minnesota Senate race grew to 312 votes Tuesday, after 351 additional absentee ballots were counted by order of a three-judge panel. The count, the result of a lawsuit brought by former Sen. Norm Coleman, had unintended consequences for the Republican. Franken had led by a mere 225 votes going into Tuesday.
